Blue Ribbon Family Restaurant, proudly known as one of the best American restaurants in Schenectady, is currently in its third generation of family ownership.
Established in 1977, the Blue Ribbon started out as a small diner with a small menu, serving classic American favorites like hot open turkey sandwiches, burgers, and homestyle baked goods to families across Schenectady, Stanford Heights, and Niskayuna, NY.
In 1980 the Blue Ribbon entered their cheesecake at the Finger Lakes and Vermont Fall Festival and won first prize. More success followed at the Massachusetts and Vermont Fall Festivals in 1981, giving way to five consecutive first prize awards at the Coliseum in New York City. These achievements helped establish Blue Ribbon as a trusted name for great American food in Schenectady and beyond.
Over time the popularity of the restaurant demanded more seating. Remodeled several times throughout the years, the spacious yet cozy dining rooms offer a comfortable dining atmosphere for families from Stanford Heights and Niskayuna who are looking for the best American restaurant experience in the Capital District.
